Desert Highway
(Erik Ringen/Rolf Scott)

On an endless desert highway
Under a shining sun
I’m driving in my car alone
Just like they do everyone
All those people
Hiding in their cars
On a restless move from town to town

I realize I don’t know anyone of them
All those travellers of the earth
It’s been a long, long journey
It’s been a long, long journey

Shades emerge into a night
And roll out from the sky
Lonely stars are calling out
I always wonder why

Ghostly faces glare at me
As cars pass through my headlights
They don’t seem to realise
The loneliness in flight

So tell me why
We’re all driving in our cars
Like flying Dutchmen
It’s just seems so bizarre

I realise, I don’t know anyone of them
All those travellers of the earth
It’s been a long, long journey
It’s been a long, long journey
