Rosy Turned Grey
(Claudia Scott)

Looking back seems so surreal
How did it all begin
Five years on an even keel
You’d think we had to win
Invitations wrapping paper
Left in the kitchen drawer
Polaroid’s with the family
You’ve seen it all before

Candy kisses, dreams and wishes
Is what we had in mind
Silent rows and eyes so distant
Is what we’re left to find

Paris, France in – 89
That’s where it all began
Wine and laughter till early morning
Late brunches in the sun
Summer lasted into Winter
We kept each other warm
Years went by in such a flicker
Too late to ride the storm

Candy kisses, dreams and wishes
Is what we had in mind
Silent rows and eyes so distant
Is what we’re left to find

If words had wings
I’d make them fly away
And let the things we said not be true
Drown my sorrows in a stream
And wake up to another dream

Candy kisses, dreams and wishes
Is what we had in mind
Silent rows and eyes so distant
Is what we’re left to find
